Practical Updates (Local Outreach and SOW)

Good evening family! I hope everyone reading this had an excellent Thanksgiving and start to the Christmas season. 🙂

Miami Outreach … 5 days away!

Our team of 46 will be driving down to Miami in 5 days to start a local outreach for almost 2 weeks. Because of the unique vision for our Discipleship Training School, we have had a shortened lecture period (2 months instead of 3 months) with the additional month split 50-50 between a stateside outreach and our Christmas break. This outreach is close to my heart because I have lived my whole life in Miami — I am so excited to once again share the love of Jesus and the hope of the Good News to as many people as we can during this short time period.

Our outreach will consist mainly of street evangelism and other spontaneous mission opportunities. We will also be blessing the churches that are hosting us by cleaning and completing other projects. One of the forms of street evangelism will be “Operation Christmas Cheer”, where we hand out small physical Christmas-y gifts like clothes, food, and water (it’s still sunny in Miami, y’all!).

All of the students on our outreach will be financially contributing from our own personal funds to buy these gifts from local stores. If you would like to financially partner with me on this outreach, you can send me any amount of money, as the Lord guides! Every little bit helps.

School of Worship (SOW) … 5 months away!

While our DTS is shifting gears from receiving information and revelation to an outpouring of local and global mission work, my personal planning has also taken a shift. After a season of prayerful consideration, I have hit the ground running to prepare for my next school at YWAM Orlando… School of Worship! (click link to learn more)

“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me,
Because the Lord has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;...
To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
That they may be called trees of righteousness,
The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.” (Isaiah 61:1-3 NKJV)

As mentioned in my first DTS blog, I read this passage in my daily devotional the day before I arrived at YWAM Orlando. During my first 2 months here in school, God has repeatedly gifted me with these verses: in lectures from our teachers, in the Gospels, in other books I’m reading, etc. It has become a life passage for me and one of my main inspirations for pursuing worship to a higher degree.

Since the process of applying to School of Worship has begun, the first step is the financial payments. The lecture fees for School of Worship are $3,895.00, not including possible outreach fees. The first day of school is April 6, about a month after my DTS graduation now.

After seeing God provide miraculously for my Discipleship Training School, I am fully trusting in His provision for this next season of my life. Please pray about whether He may be inviting you to invest in my mission.
